PUPPY KINDERGARTEN, BEGINNERS, INTERMEDIATE, ADVANCED , & DOGGY CAMP
PUPPY KINDERGARTEN
It is very important to begin tranining your puupy so that it learns its place in the family and learns acceptable behavior. Our puppy kindergarten class is the first step towards turning your precious puppy into a well-mannered dog. Openrun accepts puppies from 8 weeks to 5 months and covers almost every aspect of puppy hood. In Puppy Kindergarten your puppy will learn the following commands: Heel, Sit, Stay, Down, and Come. Through this positive reinforcement, consisting of praise and reward, your puppy will quickly learn a great deal. At ther same time, you will learn a great deal about your puppy and will form an important bond that will last well beyond the six week course.
BEGINNING OBEDIENCE
Most dog owners quickly realize that behavior that may be "cute" for a puppy is unacceptable for a full grown dog. The Beginning Obedience cousre at Openrun is the first in turning your pugnacious dog into the model of canine civility. Dogs 5 months and older may join this 6 week course. The group classes work on introducing your dog to such commands as: Heel, Sit, Stay, Down, Come.
INTERMEDIATE OBEDIENCE
Intermediate Obedience is one of the most popular classes offered at Openrun. This six week group class will help both the dog and owners to reinforce the lesssons learned in Beginning Obedience and prepare for Advanced Obedience. Like the class for Beginning Obedience, the Intermediate Class works on such commands as Heel, Sit, Stay, Down, Come, and Hand Signals, as well as behavior modification to eliminate Unwanted Jumping, Chewing, and Biting. The goal in Intermediate Obedience is to refine these skills and work towards performing these tasks "Off Leash". At the end of this class your dog should be ready for their "CGC" Canine Good Citizen test. Openrun dog training holds "CGC" and "TDI".
ADVANCED OBEDIENCE
Advanced Obedience is the highest level of obedience classesd taught as a group class. Unlike all of the other obedience courses, Advanced Obedience is taught almost entirely "off leash". The course serves as both the final course for obedience and the first step towards competition. While many of the people who take the Advanced Obedience are considering showing the dog in competition, other people simply enjoy spending time with their dog or wish to refine skills learned.
DOGGY OBEDIENCE CAMP
